One of the FAQ is : — Do you know if she ever made recordings ?
And this is my answer : — I’m sure her playings have been radio broadcasted but I’ve not found them out.
The french radio France Culture (Radio France group) should have them. Why ?
According to Peter Crowe (a New-Zealander musicologist who met her in the eighties in Jouy-en-Josas), she played piano 3 hours long for the above cited radio in 1980. Four employees were requested. They've been astonished by her capacity to play without score.
International concert pianist
A New Zealand grown pianist, Vera Moore was born in Dunedin. She took lessons from her elder brother before learning an enormous amount from Leonard Borwick who had studied piano under Clara Schumann. One of his favourite pupils, she toured the world and was playing in classical concerts. The WWII caused her to retire from this musical career and she stepped up her teaching at home in Jouy-en-Josas (France)

Un grand merci à la présidente, hôtesse et chanteuse, Mary Ann Warrick, qui a orchestré cette
rencontre avec talent. Ingmar Lazar nous a enchantés par ses interprétations de Chopin et Scriabine.
J'ai été très touché d'avoir eu l'occasion de donner un récital sur le piano de cette grande pianiste. J'espère ainsi avoir contribué à perpétuer sa mémoire, car je trouve qu'elle est aujourd'hui trop injustement méconnue, ou, pour mieux dire, oubliée. Grâce au livre écrit par Christophe Baillat, les gens pourront finalement se souvenir d'elle et mieux connaitre sa vie. Je souhaite également saluer l'initiative de ce site, car je trouve que cette grande dame du piano se devait d'en avoir depuis déjà bien longtemps. Cordialement, Ingmar Lazar

I attended Guy Haywood's conference on Ben Nicholson at Kettle's Yard (Cambridge). His wife Winifred Nicholson (British, 1893-1981) is one of the most important and best loved artists in Kettle’s Yard collection (Music of Colour.) Winifred painted a double-sided portrait. On the back of "Amy in the kitchen at Banks Head" is a portrait of Vera Moore.
Jim Ede is said to be the matchmaker between Constantin Brancusi and Vera Moore.
Parmi tous les personnages du livre, j’ai une tendresse particulière pour Jim Ede, critique et collectionneur d’art, dont la collection est aujourd’hui le fondement de l’institution Kettle’s Yard à Cambridge en Angleterre. Il est à l’origine de la rencontre entre Vera Moore et Brancusi et a été le parrain de John Moore. Il fit connaître les œuvres de Ben et Winifred Nicholson. She returned to France and this time visited Vera Moore, who had been marooned in Paris and somehow survived : « I’m looking forward to [visiting France again] so very much – to the painting light…and to Vera’s marvellous playing. After her tribulations during the war, Moore had ended up in a house on the bank of the river Cher, a tributary of the Loire". I did a great deal of research to find out why it was impossible for her to continue her concertizing career after WWII.
Pour trouver des informations sur Vera Moore, l’exercice a été plus difficile que sur Brancusi, il n’existe pas de biographie, seulement des éléments épars qui permettent de former grossièrement un puzzle. Pour reconstituer les pièces du puzzle, j’ai trouvé une aide précieuse auprès de :

Dans Vera Moore, pianiste, de Dunedin à Jouy-en-Josas, Christophe Baillat retrace le parcours d’une personnalité dont la discrétion avait fini par la faire oublier. Vera Moore fut pourtant, non seulement une musicienne célèbre, mais aussi la compagne du sculpteur Constantin Brancusi. Le livre est le fruit de recherches à la Bibliothèque du Centre Pompidou (Paris), du recueil des témoignages de ses élèves et du contact avec la famille (France et NZ) de l’artiste disparue en 1997.
Grâce à ce livre, paru chez L’Harmattan (Coll. Univers musical), avec des illustré par Bénédicte Koudry-Lahlali, chacun peut redécouvrir son histoire.

Soutenue par la mécène anglaise Helen Sutherland, Vera Moore fut invitée à ses soirées comme dans sa résidence d’été, à Bamburgh, baignée par la mer du Nord.

Kathleen Raine, poète anglaise, évoque ses années passées dans le Northumberland, près de la frontière écossaise. Dans son autobiographie Le Royaume inconnu, elle qualifie Vera Moore de « protégée » d’Helen Sutherland.

“Vera Moore, the pianist was her special protégée.” She [Helen Sutherland] was entirely responsive to whatever each of her friends had to bring. After dinner, she would settle in her chair, her dogs at her feet […] listen to Ben Nicholson. […] Or Vera Moore would play Mozart and Bach and Couperin.
